Subjective freedom - study in 15 countries
What does freedom mean to people in modern societies? And how do they see it realised in their home countries?
These are the core questions of a 15-country SINUS study for Friedrich Naumann Foundation. The results are exciting - especially in international comparison.
The study asks people directly about their subjective perception of freedom. On the one hand, the study provides an assessment of the current freedom situation from the citizens' perspective. On the other hand, the study includes a comparison between what citizens consider important for their freedom and how they assess the reality in their countries. The study focuses on the issues and aspects that are central to personal, individual freedom to shape one's own life and to participate in politics.
