Social trends in urban transformation (vhw Schriftenreihe Nr. 44)
Housing, living together and participation in the Sinus-Milieus
Together with the vhw - Bundesverband für Wohnen und Stadtentwicklung e.V., SINUS-Institut has examined social trends in urban transformation and the perspective of various Sinus-Milieus.
When it comes to housing and urban development in particular, several transformation challenges are intertwined. It is therefore particularly important to continuously monitor socio-cultural, economic and technical trends in order to understand them and actively shape urban change.
The vhw trend studies deal with the relevant and new facets of housing and urban development. It is therefore less about regularly updating existing topics and more about introducing current, implementation-relevant core issues.
The study deals with the following topics:
- Housing, housing situation and living environment
- (Local) participation
- Urban change, living together and cohesion
- Digitalization
The target group of the survey was the German-speaking resident population in Germany aged 18 and over, representative of age, gender, education and region (federal state). A total of n = 2,022 people were interviewed, 1,403 online (CAWI Computer Assisted Web Interview) and 619 in person (CAPI Computer Assisted Personal Interview).
